     The Impulse to Write Images

Next to my practice as a visual artist, I write poetry, short stories and novels, as well as critical texts in three languages: Dutch, English and Serbo-Croatian (my mother tongue). My research-oriented practice meanders between writing and fine arts, and between the unconscious mind in a Freudian sense and what I call the rhizomatic logos in a Deluzian sense. At the beginning of each text I am faced with the decision to choose one language and therefore its history and political or cultural context. That leads me to the question: in what ways does writing in each language change or influence the image, its urgency and the research connected to it?
